South African Braai and Wine Showcase: Aug 28 & 29Nautical Wheelers invites you to the Big South African Wine Event, Friday and Saturday, August 28 & 29. Both days are ticketed events.
Friday, Aug 28 from 4-7p: Enjoy a South African Braai (similar to a BBQ) and wine tasting with South African winemakers Wynand Grobler, Hugo Carinus and Bertho van der Westhulzen. This is Grobler’s 4th visit to Oriental and the first for Carinus and der Westhulzen.
Each winemaker presents three of their wines to taste (9 in total). Enjoy Boerwurst (farmer’s sausage) made at by Shawn and Billy at Oriental’s Piggly Wiggly.
The wine tasting, dinner & dessert, two glasses of wine, and winemaker meet & greet is $55 per ticket.
Saturday, Aug 29, from 1 – 3p: The Wine Showcase includes hors d’oeuvres, live music, and three winemakers pouring four wines each. Learn about the wines, and how they were made. You also receive a $10 coupon towards the purchase of your first bottle of wine. Live music by Hoff & Finch, Tickets for this event are $35 each.
